A Prague File Under a Samarkand Headline: ChessBase #225 and Bangladesh's Hollow Middle

ChessBase is addressing three audiences in one package — those who want to watch games, those who want to learn lines, and those who need raw material to teach with every week.

Read against Bangladesh, that three-tier structure changes the arithmetic. There has been no new grandmaster since 2026, but the problem is not a talent drought. The boy with a coach and a father who can send him to Prague builds lines out of 10 opening articles; the boy returning from a customs office at night reads the same articles and falls asleep. The same product is a door for one and a wall for the other, at the same price.

The sample grew until the room disappeared without my noticing.
